Acrobat "Please restart before continue" message

PROBLEM: Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0 gives a "Adobe Acrobat has been updated. Please restart before continue" message every time on startup. Restarts do not remove the "Please restart before continue" message and clicking on Help -> Updates ... gives an error that you must restart to finish installing previous update or just brings up the previous "Adobe Acrobat has been updated. Please restart before continue" message.

SOLUTION: You have to manually download and install the Adobe Acrobat 6.01 update from Adobe's website. The link to the adobe updates for Mac where you can find the Acrobat 6.01 update is here and the Windows update is here.

I also installed the 6.02 update, downloaded from the same website. After installing both of these updates, my "Adobe Acrobat has been updated. Please restart before continue" message was finally gone for good! Now you can use the normal Updates ... menu item to download and install the next updates through Acrobat instead of having to manually download and install each of them.
